SOCIALITE MUTALE MWANZA SUED FOR ALLEGEDLY TRAUMATISING A UTH DOCTOR WHILE CARRYING A GUN

Zambian Socialite Mutale Mwanza has been dragged to court for allegedly traumatising a University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Medical Doctor Natasha Mulenga while carrying a firearm.

The incident which happened on November 5, 2023, has left the complainant in extreme trauma.

In a statement of claim filed at the Lusaka High Court Registry, Dr. Mulenga says on the said date while driving home she found a broken-down vehicle in Chainda area with traffic building behind it.

Dr. Mulenga says she then decided to keep to her lane and pass the scene in order for the built-up traffic to flow but before her vehicle passed the broken-down vehicle, Ms. Mwanza had started flashing her lights at the doctor’s vehicle and decided to bypass the broken-down vehicle, joining her lane.

Dr. Mulenga says upon Ms. Mwanza blocking her vehicle, she proceeded to disembark from her vehicle, with a firearm in her right hand and approached Dr. Mulenga’s vehicle, shouting at her and banging on her vehicle.

Arising from that, Dr. Mulenga says she suffered extreme trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, severe anxiety, physiological distress, sleep disorder, experienced recurring nightmares about the event and gastrointestinal upset.

Dr. Mulenga is now claiming among other reliefs damages for assault.
