“Love’s Waterside Odyssey: A Journey to See Girlfriend Takes a Tragic Turn”

“A 23-Year-Old From Isoka, Muchinga Province, Tragically Drowns in Lwanga River on His Journey to Meet His Girlfriend, Says Muchinga Province Police Commander Paul Achiume, With the Incident Happening on Sunday at Approximately 13:00 Hours.”

“The deceased has been identified as Temwanji Silengo, who, along with a friend, found themselves in a tragic accident when their canoe capsized.

The stepfather reported this unfortunate incident to the police and explained that Silengo had initially departed for Mwenenkasi village with a friend, riding an unregistered motorbike, to visit his sister who had recently tied the knot.

Mr. Achiume disclosed that later, Silengo and his friend embarked on a journey across Lwanga River via canoe to visit Silengo’s girlfriend. Tragically, as they crossed the river, the canoe capsized. While the paddler and Silengo’s friend managed to swim to safety, Silengo, unfortunately, drowned.

“His friend desperately called for assistance from nearby people to save his friend, but it was too late,” Mr. Achiume lamented. Family members who swiftly rushed to Mwenenkasi found that Silengo’s lifeless body had already been recovered from the river.”
