In Mporokoso, a man discovers his wife and two daughters’ lifeless bodies, as reported by the police.
In a tragic incident in Mporokoso, Northern Province, a man woke up to the lifeless bodies of his wife and two daughters in mysterious circumstances. There are suspicions that they may have consumed poison.
Dalous Mwansa, who wasn’t home at the time of the incident, discovered the lifeless bodies of his family upon awakening. Before this, he had tried to wake his wife in the night but was met with her complaints of a stomach ache.
It is believed that the three had consumed a meal consisting of okra (delele), “Kalembula” vegetables, caterpillars, and nshima before going to bed. The incident occurred between November 4th and 5th between 20:00 and 06:00 hours.
The deceased include Mr. Mwansa’s wife Bridget Musonda and his two daughters, Angel (aged three) and Mildred (aged six months). They were reportedly in good health before this tragic event.
Mr. Mwansa and his family had been sleeping in a camping tent after their thatched house was set ablaze by unknown individuals on August 8, 2023, around 23:00 hours in the same village.
The situation is alleged to involve Bridget Musonda preparing a meal with “Kalembula,” “Delele,” and “Ifishimu” (Caterpillars) while her husband was away. When he returned and tried to wake her up to eat together, she complained of stomach pains and couldn’t wake up. Later, Mr. Mwansa joined his family in bed.
On November 5th, 2023, at around 06:00 hours, he discovered his family lifeless in the same bed. He reported the matter to the police, who found the three bodies facing upwards inside a green camping tent. An investigation is underway, and a postmortem examination will determine the cause of death.
